*Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back* (1980) picks up after the Rebel Alliance’s victory in *A New Hope*. The Empire, led by Darth Vader, retaliates by attacking the Rebels’ new base on the icy planet of Hoth. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) has visions of his late mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who urges him to seek training from Jedi Master Yoda. As the Rebels are forced to flee, Luke travels to the planet Dagobah to begin his Jedi training. Meanwhile, Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), and their allies evade the Empire, eventually seeking refuge in the cloud city of Bespin, run by Han’s old friend Lando Calrissian. There, Luke confronts Darth Vader, who reveals that he is Luke’s father, a shocking revelation that leaves Luke devastated. The film ends on a cliffhanger, with the Rebels scattered and Luke facing a difficult path ahead.
