*Rio* follows Blu, a domesticated macaw who has lived a sheltered life in Minnesota. He is taken to Rio de Janeiro to meet Jewel, a rare female macaw, as they are the last of their species. However, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by bird smugglers. They escape and embark on a wild adventure to find freedom. Along the way, Blu faces his fears, learns to fly, and forms a bond with Jewel. Together, they fight to stay free and protect their species, with help from their new friends, including a group of street-smart birds. The film celebrates friendship, love, and adventure.
