*Rio 2* follows Blu and Jewel, a pair of macaws, as they leave the city of Rio de Janeiro to explore the Amazon rainforest. They travel with their three children to find more of their kind. In the jungle, Blu struggles to fit in and feels out of place. Meanwhile, Jewel reconnects with her old family and her father, who disapproves of Blu. As tensions rise, Blu and his family must come together to stop the destruction of the rainforest caused by the villainous bird trader, Nigel, and the lumberjack company. Through teamwork, they work to save the forest and strengthen their bonds.
